About Barbier Breda

Barbier Breda is one of those places I like to introduce by starting with how it feels the moment you arrive, because the vibe tells you a lot before you even sit down. Located right in the heart of the city at Vismarktstraat 11, 4811 WD Breda, Netherlands, this restaurant blends a relaxed, social atmosphere with a confident, modern edge that instantly makes guests feel welcome. When I bring friends here, I usually point out how easy it is to enjoy the space your own way, whether that means settling into the dining room for a long meal or grabbing a table outside when the weather is good. The menu and drink selection are designed for variety and flexibility, which fits perfectly with the laid-back yet polished character of Barbier Breda. You can come by for a quality coffee during the day, meet up for craft beer or cocktails in the evening, or ease into the night with a glass of wine or a well-mixed spirit. Alcohol lovers and casual sippers both feel at home, and the presence of vegetarian options shows that different preferences are clearly respected. I also appreciate how accessible the service options are, because not every visit needs to look the same. Dine-in is great when you want the full experience, but delivery and takeaway make sense on busy days when you still want something reliable and flavorful. Late-night food adds another layer of convenience, especially for people exploring the city after dark or winding down with friends. For me, introducing Barbier Breda is about highlighting its rhythm and adaptability, how the restaurant keeps conversations flowing with attentive yet relaxed service, and how the central Breda location makes it a natural meeting point for locals and visitors moving through the city. It suits quick catch-ups, long dinners, and spontaneous plans without forcing a single way to enjoy the experience.

Really friendly staff and a good selection of beers, we did the "surprise" 3 course menu and every course was amazing! Really good atmosphere and in a great location.

We went to the Barbier for dinner on a Saturday evening. You'll have to go through the actual bar into an originally designed back room with a few tables. The service is pleasantly attentive and super friendly. The menu is well laid out and we ordered the gambas as a starter and the flat iron steak with baked duck liver as main course . The food was fresh prepared and decorated with love and tasted wonderful. For dessert we were recommended to try the chocolate cheesecake. And the dessert was really good too. At the end of our stay, live music started in the front area of the bar. It sounded great, but unfortunately we had to move on. We had a really delicious dinner at the Barbier and would love to come back anytime.

Great food, the staff was amazing and the location was very authentic. They actually offer a barber service which is great. We'll definitely go there again! One tip, if you're not Dutch you'll have to call for a reservation. (According to their website)
